Patient Care Coordinator
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves liaising between patients and medical staff to ensure smooth and efficient patient experiences. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a compassionate approach, and previous office experience. The position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to patient care while working in a professional environment committed to excellence.
We are looking to fill the following shifts as a minimum but the remaining days and hours are flexible for the right candidate.
Mon - 8am-5.30pm
Fri - 8am- 5.30pm
Holiday and sickness cover will be required so we appreciate flexibility around shift patterns. Our opening hours are 8am-6.30pm, Monday-Friday.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with appointment scheduling and enquiries
- Manage patient records accurately and maintain confidentiality in accordance with data protection regulations
- Coordinate appointments between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring timely scheduling
- Respond to patient queries via phone, email, or in person, providing clear and empathetic assistance
- Prepare and update patient documentation, including medical histories and consent forms
- Liaise with medical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations and patient flow
- Support administrative tasks such as filing
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and organised at all times
Requirements
- Reception and NHS experience are helpful but a positive attitude, smart appearance, IT skills and approachable manner are essential. Training and development will be provided.
- Proven office experience is highly desirable, demonstrating organisational skills and familiarity with administrative procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a compassionate approach towards patients
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly
- A professional demeanour with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving
