Repeat Prescriptions
If you are on regular treatment authorised by your doctor (i.e. listed on the right hand side of your prescription) and you need a further supply of medication, there are several ways you can do this. You can:
- leave your computer slip with your preferred chemist (see below),
- Use our online service by following the link to the secure form above
- email your request : nuffield.scripts@nhs.net
- fax your request to 01993 773899
- post your request to us here at the health centre
- bring your request in to the surgery.
- We now offer an online service for you to request repeat medication – just follow the link to the secure form below.
Please allow two working days for your prescription to be prepared. You may then collect it from the chemist (if you have filled in a form giving them permission to provide this service), or, if you prefer, it can be sent to you if you provide a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
We will provide your pharmacy with a repeat prescription within 2 working days of receiving your request. You will receive a computer printout with a list of the drugs available to you without seeing the doctor. Whichever way you choose to get it to us, you should indicate (with a P) items required. If you provide a stamped addressed envelope, we can send the prescription to you.
If you do not require more of all your medicines, please state clearly the ones you require. Please remember to request a further supply before you run out.
We would prefer requests not to be made by telephone as drug names can be difficult to hear clearly and this can be very dangerous.
We usually prescribe generically which means that we use the name of the drug rather than the name of the Company which made it, (Paracetamol rather than Panadol). Generic prescribing saves the NHS money without affecting your care.
